To have a positive thinking towards our mental health, I think we should first understand ----- How to beat a Blue Monday.

Many of us have this in mind that blue Monday is the most depressing day of the year. Now if we don’t want to feel that Blue Monday is very depressing, we should learn how to manage ourselves and our daily routines. Specially on a Sunday we start getting this feeling.


A Sunday well spent.


Why don’t we make sure that Sunday is perfect. Do all the things you love to do, or step ahead and plan something for the day ahead.

Make sure you go out and grab a good breakfast and lunch for yourself. Pack your bag for the day ahead and grab an early night. Blue Monday you will thank you. I promise!


Positive affirmations.


Start the day with lots of positivity.


I’m happy and excited for the day ahead

I believe in the good things to come

I have let go of negativity

I’ll see good in today

I’m happy to go to work


Believe me if work with these affirmations you will find a change in mindset.


Dress for the day.


If we have a new outfit in our wardrobe we always think I will wear it on some occasion, why can’t we think that today is that special day and wear that outfit and I am sure you will feel that wearing something you love is the best feelings. This will bring a big smile on your face.



Be kind.


Do something good, be kind to someone. Think of some inventive ideas to be kind, no matter if you have to sprinkle it on your social media.



Shower yourself in self care.


No matter what type of self care you choose for yourself, practice it from today without thinking or without a pause. It can be a nice coffee and a sandwich before work, spend some time in shower feel relaxed and end the day with a book in your hand. You need to engage yourself, try to schedule your routine and pen it down in your diary.



Take some time for exercise.


If you cannot go to a gym you can practice some exercises at home, can do yoga which will make you active and it will be a mind booster for you. Whatever exercise you do it will raise your heartbeat.



Make yourself happy.


For some cleaning is just something to be done, why not if just finish up cleaning and tidying up everything and then sit down and relax. For me it works the best and it makes up my mood.



Call family or friends.


In the present situation we all are missing our families, our dear ones, then why wait pick up the phone don’t just text talk on phone or have a facetime with your family. I know we all probably need this more than we realise. You can also have a zoom call so that you can see everyone and could talk to everyone. And I know you won’t fail to feel happier.



Eat whatever will make you happy.


Today is different. If you’re really not feeling it, maybe comfort food is a way to raise a smile. Of course you can make it healthy, your comfort could be health food or you might just need cake. Just know that today it is OK to eat cake and drink wine!


If all fails----

Go to bed, no one is going to stop you from doing it. An early night would be the best thing for you for the next day. It can be the kindest thing you can do for yourself. Now you are ready to beat Blue Monday. Stay healthy, have positivity within yourself .
